Female Sexual Dysfunction
Welcome to the first step in the process of evaluating, treating and enhancing the female libido. Many women suffer from Female Sexual Dysfunction or FSD. According to the Journal of the American Medical Association, more than 43% of American women (about 40 million) experience some form of sexual disorder. Any woman can experience Female Sexual Dysfunction at some point in her life.
The process involves three main steps. First is the recognition and identification of all of the intervening factors that may be affecting your libido. Second is to initiate specific therapeutic modalities that may improve or overcome those negative factors. Third is to put together a treatment and maintenance plan that you and your partner can utilize for long term improvement and enhancement of your libido and overall health.
Sexual dysfunction can be a result of a physical or psychological problem.
Physical causes: Many physical and/or medical conditions can cause sexual problems. These conditions include: diabetes, heart disease, neurological diseases, hormone imbalances, menopause or alcohol and drug abuse. In addition, the side effects of certain medications, including some antidepressant drugs, can affect sexual desire and function.
Psychological causes include: work-related stress and anxiety, concern about sexual performance, marital or relationship problems or issues, depression, feelings of guilt or sexual trauma.
